The Absolute Value of Romance Episode 7 & 8 Now Takes a New Turn

The Absolute Value of Romance takes an intriguing romantic shift in Episodes 7 and 8. Eui Ju, who has long struggled to earn Ga Su’s approval, begins to develop unexpected feelings for him. Ga Su, once seen as arrogant and stoic, appears to break that pattern, as Eui Ju grows drawn to her former nemesis.

Further, as her emotions deepen, her best friend notices something between Eui Ju and literature professor Yun Dong Ju, adding tension to the story.

With shifting attractions and growing misunderstandings, the question arises: is this a love triangle, or does Eui Ju’s heart pull her in two directions? The latest episodes of The Absolute Value of Romance blur the lines between rivalry, admiration, and affection, setting up an emotionally complex turn in the narrative.

Eui Ju’s BL fantasy leads her to interact more frequently with Ga Su. She accepts learning math to distance herself from him, but her life becomes more complicated instead. Ga Su disapproves of such fantasies but starts to accept that the genre is a normal part of life.

As their relationship begins to shift, a new obstacle appears. The school plans a documentary, which Ga Su firmly refuses to join. His friends still try to change his mind. Japanese professor Da Su brings Eui Ju into the effort and signs her up for the project to get Ga Su on camera.

Ga Su tries to pressure Eui Ju by pretending to know her secret, hoping she will help convince him to participate in the documentary. Eui Ju reluctantly tries to persuade Ga Su, but her attempts fail. Ga Su becomes angry, but ultimately agrees to be filmed briefly. This decision is influenced by the principal, who tells him he must participate or leave the school with his friends.

Moreover, the narrative reveals that Ga Su was once kidnapped by a stalker after becoming famous as a math prodigy. Hearing this, Eui Ju apologizes to Ga Su for her immature actions. Ga Su rejects her apology, and Eui Ju, distressed, faints from pain.

Episode 8 of  The Absolute Value of Romance 

As the next episode comes in, Ga Su takes her to the ER, where she is in deep pain. As the tension subsides, it turns out that Eui Ju had constipation. What felt like a moment that could have changed Eui and Ga’s absurd relation turns out to be just simple indigestion.

 The next day, she thanks him, but he turns away; instead, he tells everyone about it. Embarrassing the situation as it is, at school, Eui Ju gets an opportunity to talk to Dong Ju about a literature contest. She talks about becoming a writer, but her best friend thinks she has developed a crush on him.

 Finally, Ga Su reads his version of “We Are Best Friends.” He then asks Eui Ju to write it her own way stating he cannot change things for his own convenience. He adds that some things must remain as they are. He uses a pun about irrational numbers. It shows his wish to understand Eui Ju better.

Notably, this could have come as a shock since Eui Ju and Ga Su are on the same sides of two different magnets. They repel, yet one is trying to change the poles for attraction. This is becoming exciting. Stay tuned to know more.
