
President Murmu graced the first convocation of Central University of Andhra Pradesh on July 1, 2026. The ceremony took place in Ananthapuramu, Andhra Pradesh.
A Defining Milestone

President Murmu called the day a defining milestone for the young institution. She praised the university’s long-term vision to become future-ready. She further noted its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, especially quality education. This commitment, she said, reflects a responsibility toward inclusive growth further expressing confidence that Central University of Andhra Pradesh will become a centre of excellence. She said it will help build a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
President Murmu addressed the graduating batch directly. She called convocation the result of years of hard work. Students entered the university with dreams, she said. Additionally, they now leave with knowledge, confidence, and new opportunities.
Moreover, she reminded graduates that their success is not theirs alone. Parents sacrificed for them. Teachers guided them. Society supported them. She said graduates must now give back to society. They can become entrepreneurs who create jobs. Others may drive innovation as scientists. Alternatively, Some may choose to serve as public servants or philanthropists. Their learning should uplift the underprivileged, she said.
The President also spoke about rapid technological change. She said learning should not stop after graduation. Students must keep adapting to new technologies, she said. She urged them to explore new ideas boldly. She asked them to keep acquiring new knowledge.
President Murmu States “Youth as a National Asset”

She called India’s youth a valuable national asset. She said they combine creativity with determination. This combination, she said, turns challenges into opportunities. It also builds a more inclusive India.
The President stressed the importance of ethical values. Honesty, compassion, and empathy matter, she said. Respect for nature matters too, she added. These values form the foundation of holistic development, she explained. They help students enrich their own lives. Meanwhile, they also help students serve society and the nation.
President Murmu closed her address with a call to action. She said Viksit Bharat depends on India’s youth. Therefore, their energy, talent, and commitment will drive this vision, she said. She urged graduates to choose any path they wish, pursue it with dedication, and act with integrity.
