New Delhi: The Korean Cultural Centre India (KCCI) is bringing some of South Korea’s most acclaimed performing arts productions to Indian audiences through ‘SAC on Screen’, a monthly screening series running from July to December 2026.
An initiative of the Seoul Arts Centre, ‘SAC on Screen’ transforms renowned stage performances into high-definition films, allowing audiences worldwide to experience Korean performing arts free of charge. The programme features a diverse lineup, including musicals, classical concerts, traditional performances, contemporary dance, puppet theatre and illusion.
The series commenced in July with the screening of ‘Spirit of Beethoven’, which received an enthusiastic response from audiences. Continuing the programme, the August edition will feature the acclaimed original musical ‘Ahn Jung-geun, A Dance in the Heaven’, portraying the life and ideals of one of Korea’s most revered independence activists while conveying a universal message of peace.
Commenting on the initiative, Hwang Il Yong, Director of the Korean Cultural Centre India, said the programme aims to offer Indian audiences a rich and diverse artistic experience while showcasing the depth and creativity of Korean culture.
