Unveiling AniME From Grok
On 14th July 2025, Visual avatar Ani, a bubbly goth style anime girl, and a red Panda made Rudy. Introduced as first characters as part of the customizable AI companions in xAI Grok.

Ani is a blonde, pigtailed character wearing a black corset, short dress, and thigh high fishnets. The character speaks in a flirty, and whispery voice. While Rudy, a red panda, actively displays various moods—including a ‘Bad Rudy’ mode.
Ani is described as a non copyrighted anime girl. But quickly drew attention of anime fans on X, pointing to the similarity to Death Note’s iconic character.
Comes another male companion, “His name will be Valentine, after the protagonist in Stranger in a Strange Land, the Heinlein book where our AI name “Grok” was created”. Says, Musk on X.
