
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting with Secretaries. He reviewed the progress of rural development, agriculture, social welfare and allied sectors. He also reiterated the Centre’s focus on achieving the Viksit Bharat Goals.
The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, brought together senior government officials to review ongoing initiatives. The meeting also discussed measures to improve governance, public welfare and coordination across ministries.
Citizen Welfare at the Heart of Viksit Bharat

During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said every reform should remain focused on the welfare of citizens. He stressed that governance should become more efficient while ensuring that its benefits reach people effectively.
PM Modi said governance systems should continue to evolve to meet changing needs. He also encouraged ministries to plan ahead and work together to address future challenges.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi urged ministries to work more closely with one another instead of functioning independently, saying a stronger “whole-of-government” approach was essential.
The Prime Minister’s Office said closer coordination between departments would lead to faster decisions, smoother implementation of government policies. It would also support the country’s long-term goals under the Viksit Bharat vision.
Focus on Youth, Agriculture and Sports
Highlighting the role of young people in nation-building, Modi said India’s youth should become the driving force behind the vision of a developed India. Modi also said tackling drug abuse among young people requires coordinated efforts and called for stronger systems to support youth-focused programmes.
Referring to the agriculture sector, Modi spoke about the impact of initiatives such as the PM-KUSUM Scheme. He also stressed the importance of global skill mapping to prepare India’s workforce for new opportunities.
Speaking about sports, Modi said India should adopt an integrated strategy to promote sports tourism, encourage innovation and strengthen its efforts to host major international sporting events.
Officials Review Viksit Bharat Progress Across Sectors

During the meeting, Secretaries of different ministries briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of government programmes. They also discussed the challenges in implementation and the priorities for the months ahead in their respective sectors.
The discussions centred on better coordination between ministries, smoother implementation of government schemes and ways to speed up progress on the government’s development agenda.
The meeting was attended by the Cabinet Secretary, senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and Secretaries from key ministries.
