HUNTR/X are going up, up, up, and it’s their moment! The Netflix animated feature, K-Pop Demon Hunters, has won ‘Best Original Song’ for ‘Golden‘ at the Golden Globes 2026. The fantasy film, directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, was released in June last year.
Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami performed the chartbuster song. They are the singing voices of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey- the members of the fictional K-pop group, Huntrix. This marks a significant milestone for the animation, and its worldwide recognition will open doors for more such creations.
About the Golden Moment

Korean-American singer Ejae (the singing voice for Rumi) accepted the honour alongside co-writers Mark Sonnenblick and Lee Hee-joon.
In her emotional speech, she shared about her struggle to become a K-pop idol. The countless rejections had left her doubting her voice. She further stated that music and songs had helped her reach her current position.
Ejae feels it was a dream come true for her to be a part of a song that is helping everyone. In a true Rumi style, she had ended the speech on an encouraging note with ‘Rejection is Redirection’ and quoting the song- ‘Never too late to shine like you were born to be.’
K-Pop Demon Hunters ‘Golden’ is the second soundtrack from the film. K-Pop Demon Hunters was released in July 2025 through Republic Records. The song was a huge success, topping Billboard Global 200, US Billboard Hot 100, and US Spotify’s daily chart. Additionally, ‘Golden’ also won ‘Best Song’ at the 31st Critics’ Choice Awards, ‘Best OST’ at the Melon Music Awards 2025, and the Asia Artist Awards. Currently, this musical feature has been nominated for four Grammy categories, which include ‘Song of the Year’.
