
Humane Sagar, a singer who shaped an entire generation of Odia music through hits like “Mu aji bhi Bhala Pauchi Tate” and “Hela ki Prema,” has sadly died at the age of 34. He had been receiving treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Odisha, for multiple organ dysfunction and other health issues since Friday. He passed away on Monday at 9:08 pm. His sudden departure has shaken the world, with many dignitaries and fans mourning and offering condolences.
Condolences and Legacy
In a statement released by AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Monday, authorities stated that Humane Sagar had been diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia, acute on chronic liver failure (ACLF), MODS (multi-organ dysfunction syndrome), and other medical complications. He was admitted to the hospital on November 14, and despite the efforts of a team of specialised doctors providing advanced treatment, he did not respond and succumbed to his illnesses at 9:08 pm on November 17.
Odisha’s Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, expressed his condolences over Humane Sagar’s passing. He praised him and emphasised that his loss is irreplaceable to Odisha’s music and cinema industries. He extended prayers to his family and his soul.
Former Odisha Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik also mourned the singer’s death, acknowledging that his soulful music touched the hearts of countless listeners and recognising his significant contributions to the Odia music industry.
Humane Sagar: His Life and Beyond

Sagar was an Indian playback singer from Titagarh, Odisha. Born on November 25, 1990, he recorded over 150 film tracks and 200 album songs. He primarily worked in the Ollywood industry and gained fame with the title track of the film “Ishq tu hi tu.” In 2012, he won the “Voice of Odisha” reality singing competition.
Coming from a family of singers, his parents were also involved in music. In 2017, he married Shriya Mishra, a fellow contestant on “Voice of Odisha,” and they had a daughter. Known for his powerful and emotional singing style, Humane Sagar left a lasting legacy in Odia music.
