Meet the 2025 Nobel Laureates
This year’s Nobel Laureates represent revolutionary contributions across diverse disciplines. The Nobel Peace Prize will honour Venezuelan leader María Corina Machado. She is known for her sustained resistance against authoritarianism and her attempt at peaceful political transition. The Physics Prize goes to John Martinis, Michel Devoret, and John Clarke for their work proving quantum tunnelling and energy quantisation in engineering circuits. In chemistry, Omar Yaghi, Susumu Kitagawa and Richard Robson are getting honoured for creating metal-organic frameworks.
The Medicine or Physiology prize is conferred to Mary Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi for their discovery of regulatory T cells and mechanisms of immune tolerance; revolutionising treatments for autoimmune disease and organ transplantation.
