New Jeans’ Spotify streaming records surpassed BTS’s previous records, showing the strong global support behind their music.
New Jeans crossed 7 billion streams on Spotify becoming the fastest K-pop streaming group. They have surpassed BTS records on Spotify in less than 1,214 days as of late November 2025. What makes this achievement even bigger is that they managed it with only 40 tracks, with no promotion, and not even any latest music updates for over a year. They have also not relied on multimixed tracks for views on social media platforms.
New Jeans holds a Guinness World record for the fastest K-pop group to have 1 billion streams in just 219 days. A record faster than previous K-pop records set by artists like BTS, Twice and Blackpink. New Jeans were making record-breaking feats just after their debut album, shaking K-pop and global charts. With hits like “Hype Boy,” “Ditto,” “OMG,” “Supernatural”, “Attention”, “Cookie”, “How Sweet”, “ETA”, “Super Shy” and more crossing 100–200 million streams, they’ve secured their spot among K-pop’s top groups.
New Jeans’ Record-Breaking Success

Their record-breaking success has opened the door to major brand partnerships and widespread global attention, strengthening their presence across the board, even on digital platforms. Beyond the music charts, they continue to secure high-profile features, magazine shoots, and major event appearances, pushing their popularity even further. Their fresh concept, sharp choreography, tending fashion sense and relatable image have helped them connect deeply with younger audiences worldwide.
As their streaming numbers rise with every comeback, the group’s influence now extends into fashion, beauty, and social media trends, where their styles and challenges often go viral and shape the conversation online. Even many celebrities and K-pop idols follow their trend on social media platforms, making reels on Instagram, posting about enjoying their concerts.
Their debut song “Attention” actually got attention from global fans, a super hit track from K-pop and later got globally recognized, creating massive fan followings of new jeans. News jeans quickly became the awards shows’ favourite debut group, grabbing Rookie awards in 2022, and (MAMA, Golden Disc, MMA, etc.) winning song of the year in MAMA awards for “ditto” in 2023.
They won group of the year at Billboard 2024, and were awarded for Japan Record Awards for “Ditto” and “Supernatural”. News Jeans also received the Billboard Women in Music Award, the first K-pop group to win the group of the year in this category.
Legal Setbacks Halt Solo Plans
New jeans have five members: Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. As a part of big music entertainment company, HYBE, they get a lot of support to promote their music globally. Every album of New Jeans has a different concept, which trends easily on social media.
New Jeans’ latest single albums were “Supernatural”, “Right Now”, released in 2024. After that, they temporarily went on hiatus due to their dispute with HYBE. New activities from New Jeans came to a halt as proceedings in Seoul Central District Court began.
In its final verdict on the main lawsuit in October 2025, the court upheld the validity of New Jeans’ exclusive contract with ADOR, which is set to last until 2029. The group appealed for an independent solo career, but the Seoul court refused the appeal from the members and dismissed all their future release activities. The members eventually had to obey the court’s order and decided to return to the ADOR company.
