
As 2025 comes to a close, various streaming platforms have begun revealing their year-end lists of the most-loved songs and artists. Recently, Billboard Japan announced its top-streamed songs and artists for 2025, with the popular rock band Mrs. GREEN APPLE leading the charts. They topped the Billboard Japan Hot 100 of 2025 with five standout songs. Additionally, the band secured the number one spot on Billboard’s Japan Artist 100 for the year.

Billboard Japan Year-End Charts: Top Songs, Artists, and More

At number one on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 is Mrs. GREEN APPLE’s song ‘Lilac,’ released in 2024. It served as the opening theme for the sports anime Oblivion Battery. The band also reached number five with ‘Kusushiki,’ the second season’s opening theme for the popular seinen series The Apothecary Diaries, and number nine with ‘Bitter Vacances,’ the theme song for the live-action film Saint Young Men: Holy Men vs Demon Army.
Besides that, the other top five entries include ‘Apt.’ by Rosé and Bruno Mars, Kenshi Yonezu with the ‘IRIS OUT’ theme from the Chainsaw Man film, and ‘Rose’ by the Japanese girl group Hana.
Mrs. GREEN APPLE also showed their musical magic by becoming the top artist on Billboard’s Japan Artist 100 of the Year. They were followed by Japanese Rock trio back number, singer-songwriter Kenshi Yonezu, musician Vaundy, and the 2025 girl group HANA.
Further, the J-pop group also bagged the subsequent three positions on Billboard Japan Hot Album of the Year after Snow Man’s ‘THE BEST 2020 – 2025’. These albums include their fifth studio album, ‘Antenna’, 2019 full-length album ‘Attitude’, and the special anniversary album ‘10’.
Receiving the success, the band’s lead singer, Motoki Omori, has shared the happiness but also acknowledged the weight of these accomplishments while ensuring their fans that they will keep working hard and will continue to enjoy the music-making process.
