It’s a trade organization responsible for certifying gold and platinum albums and singles in the United States. The ‘We Belong Together’ singer is now a proud 3X diamond certified album artist with her third Pop/R&B album ‘Music Box’ and fifth studio album ‘Daydream’. Congratulations and wishes have poured in from global fans. She breaks the record for the artist with the most weeks at number 1, with “AIWFCIY” continuing to reign on the Billboard Hot 100 for the 20th week.

Merry Christmas is the fourth and first holiday album by Mariah Carey, which was released by Columbia Records in 1994. Out of the three albums’ singles, ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ later went on to become one of the best-selling digital singles of all time, with its sales of over 20 million copies worldwide. This album has received overall acclaim for the singer’s creativity and vocals. It has now been certified Diamond by the RIAA in the US for 10 million unit sales.
Mariah Carey has now joined Whitney Houston, the singer and actress, and Canadian singer-songwriter Shania Twain as the female musicians with the most Diamond-certified albums in the US.
Earlier, Whitney Houston became the first black artist to achieve three diamond-certified albums in 2020. These albums are ‘Whitney Houston’, ‘Whitney’, and ‘The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album’. While Sania Twain had accomplished this status in 2003 with ‘The Woman in Me’, ‘Come On Over’, and ‘Up!’- becoming the first ever female artist to do so.
