It seems like Bollywood is experimenting with merging of genres, specially interweaving with it mythology. After Maa, it has come up with Mandala Murders, an eerie crime thriller which merges mythology, and murder. Vaani Kapoor makes her OTT debut with this Netflix and YRF Entertainment’s project. Directed by Gopi Puthran, who is known for Mardaani, the series delves deep into the dark world which is layered by mythological beliefs.
Vaani points out her preference for OTT platforms, saying that she “loves streaming because an actress gets more meatier projects, and roles to show our craft on screen, which is more often very limited when it comes to theatrical movies as it’s mostly centered around our male actors.”
Further, this comment also hints at the depth this series is going to have.

Mandala Murders is set to stream from July 25, only on Netflix.
What is Mandala Murders About?
The poster indicates at the occult practices. Taking to Instagram, Netflix mentioned in the caption, “Har vardaan mein ek shraap chhupa hai, mol chukane ka waqt jald aane wala hai.” (There is a curse hidden in every boon, the time to pay the price is coming soon).
The story is set in a haunting fictional town by the name of Charandaspur. The secret society creates a mystical world where the lines between faith and madness blur. In this world, everything is interconnected, even the killings that are taking place. Detective Rhea Thomas and Vikram Singh have to decode the mysterious symbols, and find out who is behind this secret society, and what is their motive. Similar to the intricate design of ‘mandala’ art, this series connects an ominous prophecy, and a web of secrets, which are to be unraveled to reach to the truth.
As the trailer says, Mandala represents an entire world within itself. Get ready to witness a petrifying thriller soon!
