Jennie Makes History With Back-to-Back Wins
Jennie, after a successful solo year, won back-to-back accolades at the awards. She won Digital Song Bonsang for her song ‘Like JENNIE‘ and simultaneously won the same award for BLACKPINK’s ‘Jump‘. As the only member of the group, she accepted the award but didn’t forget to give a shout-out to her bandmates. “I can’t talk right now because the members are not here, but I think Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa will be very happy,” she exclaimed in her acceptance speech.
She was called to the stage a third time within ten minutes for her next win, the Global Impact Award. Following this, Jennie delivered an electrifying three-song performance of ‘Filter,’ ‘Damn Right,’ and ‘Like JENNIE,’ creating one of the night’s highlights. Immediately after the performance, actor Byun Woo Seok presented her with the Artist of the Year award. Jennie returned to the stage for the fourth time that night to express her gratitude to her fans and the audience. In addition, the Golden Disc Powerhouse 40 named BLACKPINK among the 40 most influential figures shaping Korean popular music.
Her Debut Album ‘Ruby’
Jennie began her solo career with the release of her full-length debut album, Ruby. The album was released on March 7, distributed by Odd Atelier, the production company she started, along with Columbia Records. With 15 tracks, Ruby sold over a million copies in its first week. She collaborated with industry giants such as Dua Lipa, FKJ, and Childish Gambino.
Her song ‘Like JENNIE’ earned widespread popularity and acclaim while hits like ‘Mantra‘ and ‘twin‘ became global sensations. She debuted at #7 on the Billboard 200, the highest ever for a BLACKPINK solo album.

The Golden Disc Award was a splendid night for the K-pop industry. It also highlighted a major shift, with solo artists sweeping the grand prize awards instead of idol groups. G-Dragon won Song of the Year for “HOME SWEET HOME”. Rosé from BLACKPINK secured a Digital Song Bonsang for ‘toxic till the end’. Girl group IVE secured a triple crown with Main Album Bonsang for IVE EMPATHY, Main Digital Song Bonsang for ‘REBEL HEART,’ and the Cosmopolitan Artist Award for their trendsetting style. Meanwhile, Stray Kids won Album of the Year for ‘KARMA’.
