Performers of the Night at the T20 World Cup Opening Ceremony

Although the performances were not broadcast live in full, viewers were shown glimpses of the star-studded acts. The audience was captivated by performances from popular artists, including Badshah, Norah Fatehi, and Rishabh Rikhiram Sharma.
Each performer brought a unique flavour to the ceremony, making it a memorable opening night.
Norah Fatehi’s glamour, energy, and effortless stage presence set the bar high. Her high-energy and dazzling act left the audience mesmerised.
Badshah also joined the lineup and entertained the crowd with his signature style. He shared his excitement:
“I’m incredibly excited to be part of this global celebration of sport, entertainment, and culture. Music, just like cricket, brings people together, and I can’t wait to bring my energy to this incredible stage.”
Celebrated sitarist Rishabh Rikhiram Sharma, who is currently preparing for his tour, also performed at the ceremony. He expressed his joy in sharing his music at such a historic event:
“I’ve always believed the sitar belongs in bold, unexpected spaces—places that don’t just change how people perceive it, but how they respect it. Opening for the ICC T20 World Cup wasn’t something I imagined, but it’s a powerful step in taking Indian music to a truly global stage. I’m thrilled to share my sound in this historic moment and even more honoured to share the stage with maestro Sivamani alongside 60,000 fans in attendance.”
India’s Campaign in the Tournament

The T20 World Cup is being hosted by India and Sri Lanka this year. Team India has been placed in Group A alongside Namibia, the USA, the Netherlands, and Pakistan.
India played their first match on February 7, 2026, against the USA and won by 29 runs, marking a strong start.
If Team India goes on to win this cup, they would successfully defend their title and become the first team in history to retain the T20 World Cup title. It would also be their third T20 World Cup trophy, making history as the first team to lift the trophy three times.
