It looks like BTS Army’s prayers have finally been answered! The South Korean sensation is back, ready to get everyone moving to their beat. After several years, BTS is preparing for their big comeback on March 20 this year. They announced their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, along with a highly anticipated world tour.
Pre-orders for the album began on Friday at 11 AM KST (7:30 AM IST). The album will be available in various formats, including a physical copy, Weverse editions, and vinyl. Fans’ excitement is evident, with US Weverse editions selling out in less than 30 minutes.

ARIRANG will mark the BTS’s first release since they completed their mandatory military service. Earlier this year, the Big Hit Music, BTS recording label, officially announced their comeback. This had effectively put an end to their four-year hiatus, much to the relief of the Army. On January 16, the group finally revealed the name of their new album- ARIRANG.
ARIRANG celebrates Korean culture. The title draws from a Korean Folk song, whose roots stretch back centuries. The name can be broken into ‘ari’, which means beautiful or aching, and ‘rang’, meaning beloved. The word is said to be an imagery of moving from hardship to hope. It also has several variations such as ‘homecoming’, ‘displacement’, ’endurance’, and so on.
The latest BTS creation is said to be deeply reflective, exploring members’ identity and roots. ARIRANG will feature 14 tracks and will be available in different editions. The physical edition of the album will have posters, photobooks, and colourful vinyls of each member.
About the BTS
BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan or Bangtan Boys) is a popular South Korean Boy Band. Formed in 2010, the group consists of members Jin, Suga, RM, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. The band made their debut in 2013 with the single album, 2 Cool 4 Skool under Big Hit Entertainment Label. The album was commercially successful, achieving number 10 on Billboard’s World Album Chart in the US.
BTS earned global fame by 2015 with their hit single, ‘I Need You’ (from the third extended play, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1). By 2017, they won the Billboard Music Award for Top Social Artist, becoming the first Korean group to win this award. In 2018, the group became the youngest recipients of the prestigious South Korean Order of Cultural Merit.
