
Third time’s the charm, but doing it for the fourth time, that’s extraordinary! That is exactly what could be said about the Puerto Rican rapper and singer, Bad Bunny. Recently, the music giant Spotify unveiled its annual Spotify Wrapped, a feature that showcases listeners’ top artists and songs, and there’s a frenzy on social media. Bad Bunny has been officially declared the king of Spotify 2025, as the most-streamed artist with over 19.8 billion streams.
The artist is followed by Taylor Swift, who became the number one artist in the US, as well as The Weeknd and Drake. This is the fourth time Bad Bunny has held the ‘most-streamed’ title, following his successful runs in 2020, 2021, and 2022. That’s another achievement for the ‘DtMF’ singer, in addition to releasing a top album this year.

Bad Bunny held Spotify’s ‘top artist’ title for the first time, with his ‘top album – YHLQMDLG (Yo Hago Lo Que Me Da La Gana, I Do Whatever I Want) in 2020. It was the first time any non-English musician topped the year-end wrap. After that, his reign went on for two more years in 2021 and 2022 ushering in the new wave of Latin Music with his hit albums such as El Playlist de Anoche (Last Night’s Playlist) with Tommy Torres and Un Verano Sin Ti (A Summer Without You), which debuted number one on the US Billboard 200.
His three-year strike was later ended by American Singer, Taylor Swift who became the ‘Top Spotify Artist’ in the years 2023 and 2024 for the major re-release of widely acclaimed studio albums Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), 1989 (Taylor’s Version), a new studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, and the successful Eras Tour.
In 2025, the Lover singer was again dethroned by Bad Bunny with his sixth album Debí Tirar Más Fotos (I Should Have Taken More Photos) taking the honour of ‘Top Global Album’, dominating Latin American music charts. Apart from this, Spotify’s Yearly Top 10 Global Artists features names like Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, Arijit Singh, and Fuerza Regida.

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, more popularly known as Bad Bunny, is a Puerto Rican rapper, singer, and record producer. Born in 1994, he rose to fame with his song, Soy Peor (I’m Worse) in 2016: a heartbreak beat whose music video has now surpassed one billion views on YouTube. He then went on to collaborate with big names like Cardi B in I Like It and Canadian Rapper Drake, who was featured in his single Mía (Mine). This solidified his hold on the music industry as well as on the minds of the people.
He released his first studio album X 100pre (simply, Forever) in 2018, which was ranked at 41 on the esteemed Rolling Stones’ 100 Best Debuted Albums of All Time. Currently, Bad Bunny is one of the most influential artists of this generation known for his unique vocal style, fashion statements, and charming persona.
