
HONG KONG, Oct. 18, 2025 – The Hong Kong Wireless Technology Industry Association (WTIA) celebrated the brightest minds in Asian technology at the Asia Smart Innovation Awards 2025 Presentation Ceremony on October 16. Held at Cordis Hong Kong, the event gathered leading innovators from 17 Asian countries and regions. Moreover, it recognised groundbreaking achievements in smart technology and fostered cross-border collaboration.
RIFFAI from Thailand clinched the prestigious Grand Award for its project “Shorten Site Search & Selection in Energy Industry with Satellite & AI.” Specifically, the platform uses high-resolution satellite imagery and proprietary neural networks to revolutionise energy sector planning. As a result, it dramatically reduces the time and cost for infrastructure development.
Hong Kong’s tech scene demonstrated its competitive edge. In fact, it secured two of the three finalist positions in the Lifestyle and Culture category. The Silver Award went to 417 Technology Limited for its AI-powered STEM education platform, Wonderland. Meanwhile, SMART IGNITE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED won the Bronze Award and the Special Mention Award for Best Startup for its innovative CenWatch wearable technology.
Other notable winners included bitsensing Inc. from Korea, which took the Gold Award in the Public Sector and Social Innovation category for its TraXight™ intelligent transportation system, while Kaz Software Ltd from Bangladesh, which won the Gold in Lifestyle and Culture. Additionally, Mr. Keith Li, Chairman of WTIA, highlighted the awards’ significance in his address.

Furthermore, the event also further cements Hong Kong’s leadership as an international innovation and technology hub. This year marked a significant evolution for the awards. They were officially upgraded from the Asia Smart App Awards to the Asia Smart Innovation Awards. Consequently, the expanded scope now includes IoT, AI, blockchain, and other emerging technologies, thereby reflecting the dynamic growth of Asia’s smart technology ecosystem.
The ceremony was officiated by Dr. Lawrence Cheung, Chief Technology Officer of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, and Mr. Keith Li, Chairman of WTIA, further underscoring the event’s importance to the region’s technology landscape.
