New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) searched six locations across three northern states on Tuesday. The raids target a Cambodia-linked human trafficking and cyber slavery network. Officials seized smartphones, laptops, and other digital devices during the operation. Meanwhile, investigators covered four districts in Bihar, including Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, and East Champaran. They also searched one site each in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Each location had links to associates or supporters of accused persons already arrested in the case.
Absconding Mastermind Leads Cyber Slavery Syndicate

The case falls under FIR RC-10/2024/NIA/DLI. Officials say absconding accused Anand Kumar Singh, alias Munna Singh, masterminded the cyber slavery syndicate. He allegedly ran the operation with four associates: Prahlad Kumar Singh, Abhay Nath Dubey, Abhiranjan Kumar, and Rohit Yadav.
Additionally, the NIA filed a chargesheet against all five men in May 2026. However, three of Singh’s aides — Abhay, Abhiranjan, and Rohit — were arrested earlier. Delhi police detained them in February 2026 as they returned from Cambodia.
Recruitment and Coercion
According to the NIA, the syndicate lured Indian youth with promises of legitimate, well-paying jobs abroad. Recruiters seized victims’ passports immediately after they landed in Cambodia. Consequently, the trafficked individuals were handed directly to scam companies.
Singh reportedly built a wide recruitment network. Further, he worked through several sub-agents and travel agents based across India. These agents identified vulnerable youth and helped move them out of the country. Victims later described their ordeal in official statements. Those who refused to work for the scam companies faced severe punishment. The syndicate allegedly used electric shocks, forced confinement, and denial of food and water to coerce compliance.
Meanwhile, the NIA confirmed that its search for the remaining absconders continues. Additionally, the agency is working to identify other members connected to the wider syndicate.
