The episode begins where the previous one ended, with Hwan confessing that the eight-year-old was also one of his targets. After Beom Gi’s death, life changed completely. Hwan moved away with his family to his in-laws’ house, leaving Sun Yeong behind while she carried Beom’s child. Meanwhile, Kang Tae continued his relentless search for the killer. The case took a dramatic turn when the murderer killed and mutilated another woman before Seok Man’s murder conviction.
This development raised serious questions. While Seok remained in custody, investigators discovered the woman’s body in a field, forcing Cha Yeong to halt the proceedings. At the time, Hwan struggled with the belief that he had caused his brother’s death and considered ending his crimes. However, Sun’s eight-year-old student unexpectedly reignited something within him. As the case remains entangled with the killer’s eight-year reign of terror, Cha Yeong is shocked to learn that his fiancée knows about his family’s past and that Sun Yeong is his sister. He starts welcoming Sun Yeong into the family, while his father also attempts to accept her as his daughter, hoping to strengthen his political ambitions.
