Where We Left Off: Death Whisperer 1
Death Whisperer 1 ended with a major cliffhanger where the possessed sister Yam dies abruptly.
For those who need a refresher on the movie, Death Whisperer 1 is about the protagonist named Yak who comes back home from his military duties in Thailand to find out that his sister Yam has a weird disease that’s making her behave strangely.
The story revolves around Yak and the family trying to find out what’s wrong with Yam and fight it.
We know that the “strange disease” that Yam has is an evil spirit, obsessed with killing, possessing her. In the end of the movie, we see that the evil spirit successfully kills her in front of her family. Yak, who previously thought he had defeated the said evil spirit, has to fight it again to ensure the family’s survival.
Time Skip and Updates: Death Whisperer 2
The second movie starts off with Yak fighting off demons to find the evil spirit that killed his sister.
Yak’s family is preparing for the wedding of his sister Yad, and now every member of the family is ready to fight the spirit when she rears her ugly head trying to ruin her special day.
The shift to a more action focus doesn’t harm the film though.
We still follow the rest of the family, and they carry the second half of the movie when we are finally introduced to some genuinely spooky scenes.

Is It Worth A Watch?
While many reviews go against this sentiment, I truly believe that the Death Whisperer franchise is worth a watch. It doesn’t have much genuine scary moments nor does it do something out of the box. It is simple, and its simplicity is its charm. There is a great family bond between these siblings, Yak, Yad, Yos, Yod ,Yam and Yee.
Except for Yos and Yod, each sibling has a certain dynamic with the other and that’s very wholesome to see and experience. The first Death Whisperer movie was a delightful surprise. It was more of a family drama film with a horror overtone, but this movie changes that tone completely with far more action, and more horror scenes. Definitely worth a watch!
